Hello peeps! It’s me Atticus!

Haven’t said anything lately. I’ve been sulking in my room over the dog.

But I’m over it now! She’s a dodgy thing, that dog, but I guess she ain’t so bad – as long as I’m high above her, like on this table.

Babeng turned one last Saturday. We debated getting her a cake from a doggy bakery. In the end, we did get a cake, but a human one for us - chocolate fudge.
Babeng got a carrot and a wedge of Camembert. Happy Birthday, Babeng!
warning sign
This is what goes on every day ever since the truce was first called. Babeng sniffs Georgie’s butt, Georgie moves away a bit, Babeng follows, Babeng sniffs Georgie’s butt again….. over and over until George gets tired of moving. Then he either jumps up where Babeng can’t follow, or he hisses menacingly until Babeng gets the message.
Who needs TV when you have a reality/horror show right in front of you enfolding realtime?

I’m happy to report a breakthrough in the feline-canine relationship in our household.

For the past several days, Georgie hasn’t yowled at or tried to kill Babeng whenever she comes within maiming distance. In fact, there’s been a whole lot of butt-sniffing going on: Babeng sniffs Georgie’s butt, Georgie pretends not to notice.

It’s taken 7 months but finally we’re getting somewhere. Maybe this is George’s birthday present to the dog:
‘Happy Birthday, Dog! Nah, you can lick my butt for me.’
Babini Houdini
Now that Babeng has fully recovered from her tummy bug and won’t die a horrible painful death, I can put the above video up without feeling too guilty over falling off my chair laughing each time I watch it. Thankfully her heat has passed and we no longer have to deal with bloodstains and Houdini-esque escapes from sanitary garments.
It’s off to the vet’s for neutering in a couple days. I wonder of they’ll put that cone thing around her neck. Now that’s sure to be good for a couple laughs.
The IAMS issue
I try to make ethical choices with my spending power, not the easiest thing to do with the dismal labeling practices in this country. However with the help of the internet, keeping oneself educated does get easier.
The above video is one made by PETA concerning an IAMS contract testing lab that abused animals and subjected them to tests and inhumane living conditions. You can read more about it here, here and here.
George and Atti are on IAMS Ocean Fish and Chicken kibble. It’s gonna take a while, but I’m planning to wean them off it and change to another brand. Any suggestions?
